INSPIRATIONS

 

Living in Hawaii, surrounded by beauty makes it difficult to pinpoint what inspires me. Out my window I see a verdant valley, the sparkle of the ocean and the changing colors of the sky. Unusual things interest me and I like to incorporate them into my designs. A feather wreath as a hat, strips of magazine molded to the bodice of a dress, feathers hand stitched to corsets are but a few examples. I mix texture and the old with the new. Pleasing the eye while attempting a unique piece.  A sample bouquet for my niece's wedding became the inspiration for the sketch used for the wedding invitations. The sense of joy was overwhelming and better than any monetary payment!

 

I have been encouraged by many, especially my family. Love and support are by far the best inspiration.
